Hi everybody! Jason and I recently bought our first house together in the Chicago area. I’m setting up this blog to document all our renovations over the next…I don’t know, possibly forever! The house is an American Foursquare, that needs A LOT of love. The previous owners lived there for about 45 years and unfortunately let it go quite a bit. Since they had such an emotional connection to it, they were looking to privately sell to good people (insert a picture of our smiling faces). We wrote a very convincing letter, stating that we were going to restore it to it’s “original potential,” and BAM, now it’s ours. Under all of the cracking plaster, 70’s textured wallpaper, grimy hardwoods, and smokey master bedroom the house actually has some good bones. It’s not exactly our style of home, but the potential was too good to pass up. I hope you enjoy our posts!
